District Sabbatical Policy
Recognizing that professional burnout is a prevalent risk with those in ministry, longer pastoral tenures should be encouraged, the ministry is a twenty-four-hour-a-day assignment, church, family, community and personal schedules are intense for ministers, schedules provide little time for unhurried personal renewal and spiritual reflection, and vision and mission need periodic review and redefinition, this policy for Pastoral Sabbatical is offered.
