CRISIS CARE KIT / SCHOOL PAL PAK COLLECTION INFORMATION
First, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to our SWID family who have an in interest in Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. By purchasing and packing items listed below you are making an investment in God’s Kingdom and in people’s lives that we will probably never meet this side of heaven. If you are new to Crisis Care Kits and School Pal Paks, please read the directions below. You can do it! I continue to be amazed at the response and support year after year in supporting NCM. I look forward to this year’s collection and am working on creative ways to continue this ministry into the future. As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to reachout. -dl
The 2026 collection will be Spring, 2026 at SWID Ladies’ day. Transport date will be in mid-May. Donations are accepted at Odon right up until the time of departure. However, CCK’s will NOT be accepted at Odon until 1 April 2026. This is due to shelf-life issues with toothpaste and shampoo. Please wait until late March or later to purchase these 2 items to maximize their shelf-life after transport to the warehouse in May. Please verify expiration date (toothpaste) and manufacture date (shampoo). (see below)
The 2026 CCK instructions are the same as last year and are listed below. There are 5 points of interest. (1): The fee per box has been raised to $16.00 ($12.00 for Pal Paks). (2): The check is to be marked: “Crisis Care Kit Shipments 140002” (“SCHOOL PAL PAK SHIPMENTS 140003”) (3):7 SEALED, unscented sanitary napkins are to be enclosed in their own 1-quart zip-close bag and inserted into a 2 1/2 Gallon zip-close bag. (4): Mark each box with the letter “S” (for SWID) and write you church’s name and address on lid to identify our boxes when combined with other boxes from other districts. (5) Odon will not be inspecting boxes this year. We will collect, store and transport. Final inspection will be done at the warehouse. They will notify the district if items need to be replaced. (This is new for 2026.)
Please take time to look over the updated instruction page carefully below. There are clarifications on combs, hand towels, toothbrushes, band-aids, fingernail clippers and beanie babies. Questions? Please call (812-486-5504 or email me.
Summer time is a great time to collect items for School Pal Paks (July-August). They can be dropped off at Odon anytime in the walkway between church and fellowship hall (24x7) or arrange a meet-up via email davel8257@gmail.com or phone call 812-486-5504. They will be stored until transport next spring. Please use sturdy 12x12x12 boxes (U-haul is a good source.)
A recent change in the Fawn Grove warehouse requires them to open and check the contents of every box. Pastors / NMI Presidents Plesae inspect every kit before bringing to Ladies’ Day or Odon. Mark each box with the letter “S” on the upper left hand corner of the lid and write your church’s name and address. This will help us identify it as a SWID box. Please do NOT tape boxes closed or over handle openings. Inspections will be done at the warehouse and rquests for replacement items will be sent to the district. Partial boxes (less than 6 complete kits) are OK — mark “Partial” on the top. Individual kits are welcome as long as they are assembled correctly and completely. Also, because our boxes are packed in combination with many other boxes, please make sure the bottom flaps on each box are not hanging loose. (Duct tape is a good solution for this problem.). Please cut a piece of cardboard or use the heavy brown paper to cover the openings on the bottom and the lid. This keeps the box from snagging when they are loaded / unloaded.

SHELF LIFE ITEMS (Toothpaste, Shampoo) 18 months from shipping date (est. May, 2026) DO NOT PURCHASE BEFORE February2026
TOOTHPASTE Verify Expiration date 10/2027 or later. AIM toothpaste seems to have very long shelf life. 4.0 Oz tube: $1 at Dollar General (smallest size allowed)
SHAMPOO has a 3yr shelf life from date of manufacture. Check the date as shown below: (5th digit should be 4 or greater)
Date of manufacture
For Alberto V05 Shampoo, look for date codes beginning with “5” or “4300…”. The first digit is year of manufacturer. The next 3 digits isi the day count in that year. “4300” is October 27,2024 (the 300’th day) of 2024. Shampoo has a shelf-life of 3-years. This would be the earliest acceptable date that would provide an 18 month shelf-life after SWID transport (May 2026).
NEW ITEM
7 unscented sanitary pads, regular absorbency, each one sealed in original packaging, all placed in a 1-quart zip-close plastic bag, then added to the kit.
