    You ... Making A Difference

Yes, you have skills and talents needed to advance God's Kingdom somewhere in this world today!

Work & Witness is an exciting lay ministry of the church of the Nazarene that gives you the opportunity to do construction, evangelism, medical work, office work, or any other type of service needed on a specific field. Hundreds of projects are available around the world to be matched with your team's resources and skills.

Teams of approximately twenty people travel to one of the world areas in which the Church of the Nazarene is working or to ethnic and inner-city projects in the United States or Canada.

Teams stay for an average of two weeks on each project. Each participant pays for his own transportation, field expenses (food, transportation and housing), and contributes toward the purchases of materials needed for the project. Often, a day or two is set aside for sight-seeing, but the majority of the time is actually spent on the project. Many opportunities are available to share your personal testimony with the local people as you work among them.

    A "You-nique" Experience...

We need people who can adapt their special skills and abilities to be useful to others who think and work differently. We need those who will be flexible when things don't go as expected. We need people who want to bond with others of a different culture - to dream their dreams, feel their struggles, and help make a difference in their world.

    For "You-nique" People ...

We are looking for you if you are looking for the experience of a lifetime.

NEXT PROJECT: June 2008, Probably Navajo Nation, NM or AZ

S.W.I.D. Lifeline is a financial program designed to provide a solid financial base for the Southwest Indiana District Work & Witness building projects. In previous years the money was shared equally with the Home Missions, but due to the increase of material cost in all geographical areas, currently all finances will go directly to the Work & Witness Project. Treasurer: Dede Jones, 1141 N US Hwy 231, Spencer IN 47460

Membership in Lifeline involves the contribution of $10.00 or more each quarter or $40.00 per year for the construction of buildings and building improvements on mission fields around the world or in ethinic areas of the U.S.A. and Canada.
All churches are encouraged to participate and a goal of 10% of the Morning Worship Average Attendance is the recommended lifeline membership. [Example: Morning Worship Average is 160, then 16 Lifeline members is the church's goal = $640.] Churches also receive 10% credit at the time of the project.

Finances contributed to Lifeline helps distribute the cost of projects throughout the district by enabling everyone to help supply material for the projects. Individuals actually going on the project trip are then responsible for their traveling, living, and insurance expenses only. This allows more people to actually be able to participate in a trip.

Promotion is usually done in January as part of Volunteer Ministries. Bulletin Boards and especially speakers who can share actual trip experiences are recommended. Many times personal slides are also available with the speakers.
